GENERAL PURPOSE: To provide and sustain an effective learning environment for every student through well prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear documentation of student progress, and support of academic success of at-risk students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach courses as assigned by Department Chair up to the maximum number of contact/credit hours allowed by current accreditation.
• In case of emergency, provide a qualified, prepared substitute who must be approved by your Department Chair prior to class.
• Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
• Provide assistance for the planning, development and maintenance of program curriculum.
• Work with the Department Chair to resolve student concerns.
• Provide annual documentation of continuing professional growth.
• Attend scheduled program meetings, SBI Campus in-service workshops and college-wide faculty meetings.
• Manage special projects as formally assigned by the Department Chair or Director of Education  (including, but not limited to, the organization and posting of student work for display; assistance with accreditation preparation.)
• Adhere to and publicly support SBI Campus policies and procedures, included but not limited to the employee handbook, faculty handbook, and catalog.
• Attend annual graduation ceremony.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Documented expertise in academic subject area and expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills, as demonstrated by data sheet, diplomas, transcripts, certifications, CVs/Resumes, and in personal interview.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of industry experience. Prior post-secondary teaching experience preferred.

EDUCATION

Bachelor & Master’s Degree.
